The Bernette 05 ACADEMY is a versatile mechanical sewing machine designed to give you plenty of creative freedom while keeping everyday sewing simple and comfortable. With 30 essential stitches, a powerful motor and a generous selection of 12 included presser feet, it is ready for everything from dressmaking and repairs to decorative sewing and more ambitious creative projects.

For projects that require greater precision, the adjustable speed limitation lets you reduce the maximum sewing speed to 650 stitches per minute. When you need to sew longer seams quickly, the machine can reach speeds of up to 1100 stitches per minute.

The b05 ACADEMY also features adjustable presser foot pressure, a retractable feed dog, two bright LED lights, a convenient finger guard and a large slide-on extension table.

30 Versatile Stitches

The b05 ACADEMY offers 30 useful stitches for a wide range of sewing projects, including a one-step buttonhole. Among its highlights are the Super Stretch Stitch for smooth elastic seams and the Blanket Stitch for appliqué, decorative work and finishing edges.

Adjustable Presser Foot Pressure

Different fabrics require different levels of pressure. The adjustable presser foot pressure helps provide more even fabric feeding when working with both lightweight and heavier materials, helping to reduce unwanted gathering.

Speed Limitation for Greater Control

When working on detailed or tricky projects, the speed limiter allows you to reduce the maximum sewing speed to 650 spm. When you need faster sewing for longer seams, the machine can reach up to 1100 spm.

Retractable Feed Dog

The retractable feed dog can be lowered when you want to work on darning or free-motion sewing. Simply lower the feed dog using the control at the back of the machine.

Super-Large Slide-On Table

The included slide-on extension table provides additional workspace for larger projects. Its rounded surface helps fabric glide smoothly while giving you more room to guide and control your work.
